9- A Private Tour to Abu Simbel by road :

Your visit to Aswan won't be complete without visiting Abu Simbel, the most unusual & majestic temples ever, Crème de la Crème, the best of the best. Two great temples carved into a mountain, that's why colors have remained so well preserved in those dynamic scenes there, the temples belong to Ramesses II. The bigger temple has a façade of four gigantic sitting statues of Ramesses, each is 20 meters high. An Ancient Egyptian miracle takes place only twice a year, commemorating the birth and coronation days of Ramesses, when the sun rays shine all the way through the entrance to the bigger temple, 65 meters deep into mountain. Modern miracle took place in the late 60s when the two temples were flooded because of the building of the High Dam, Egypt was helped by the Unesco and many other governments in rescuing the two temples and moving them to a close by new site. It has cost USD $ 42 million, Egypt and the Unesco shared paying that. The smaller temple has a feminine touch as it was dedicated to Queen Nefertary and to Hathor.

You will be picked up from your hotel by our rep and Egyptologist , then you will drive to join the convoy, then you will drive for about two and a half hours each way, to be there in the site for about two hours, then you will drive back to Aswan.

The drive will be through a part of the Sahara Desert, if weather is fine, you will watch sunrise on the way there, and mirage on the way back, normally it is early to avoid the heat at Abu Simbel.
